"Now that the dust has settled following our return from OPERATION HARMONY and we have returned to the daily routine, the time has come for me to send you a proper written 'thank you' for the oustanding job you did for us. Indeed, this letter is well overdue, but only just before the leave period did the story of the print really end, as LCol Skidmore presented the original version to the rhine Ruhr Officer's Mess, resplendent in dry-mounted format.
In retrospect I realize that our project really consumed almost a full year, beginning with our original discussions in July of 1994, where your highly detailed written estimate, including several helpful options, provided us with a clear and concise picture of the costs involved in the production of a commemorative print. I was particularly impressed by your complete commitement to the project so early in the process, and felt that your provision of several samples and displays or earlier works gave me a good feel for what could be done. It was clear to me that we could expect quality to be your top criterion from the outset.
The lengthy, daily effort involved in the actual production of the original, master copy was especially interesting and satisfying. Your cooperative and persistent approach throughout the three-month production period was commendable, and went a long way to ensuring that we met the critical milestones. The daily exchange of FAX-notes between myself in Croatia and you, here in Pembroke, to complete fine details permitted the maximum input from the members of CANBAT 1 / 1 RCR in every respect. Your attention to the smallest details was noted quickly by the Officer Commanding our Rear Party, Captain Rob Walker, who relayed his great pleasure at your prototype to me.
The final production of the print, all 900 copies, demonstrated clearly to us that you can be relied upon to produce a top-quality product. Your personal insistence on exactly the right tint and lettering, as well as, your personal signing of each print, surely emphasized the trademark of a professional.
I can tell you on behalf of all members of CANBAT 1 / 1 RCR that your efforts are indeed greatly appreciated; every member of CANBAT 1 / 1 RCR will proudly display the print you so assiduously completed. From my point of view, as the focal point within the unit, dealing with you has been a pleasure.
Thank you for your fine work, you are indeed a talented artist and a capable businesswoman.
