Born in Middleton, Nova Scotia,
my first road trip was 6 months later when we moved to Ontario.
These formative years saw me developing a deep appreciation for the great outdoors, via camping/canoe trips up north, and free range of the orchards and sandpit on horseback, (read shetland pony back) near Wooler.
In '75, my Dad got posted to Germany, where I remained for 17 years, meeting my family in France, immersing myself in European culture, architecture, history and skiing. I was also lucky enough to ride overseas and I made a nice transition from our bareback pad to the English saddle.
1992 saw me return to Canada and my love of wildlife became an every day event of continual amazement, as I watched the beautiful animals that shared our property, out by the Alice-Fraser townline.

2000 brought me out West, the base brat in me, excited with the prospect of adventure. I feel like I am finally home ... for now, at least ... still so much to see. I love the mountains and the lakes and the skies.
I am forever thankful that I live in such a beautiful part of this country.
Presently, I ride amongst my Albertan friends, with my English Saddle, boots and jeans; different perhaps but my love of horses is the same. Riding, touching, observing and admiring these magnificent gentle giants translate into the details I capture in my artwork.
I have been drawing ever since I can remember, self-taught, and motivated by the amount of gifts required for a huge family, I drew what/whoever caught my attention at the time.
Guess I better get a drawing of Mom done, afterall these years, eh? At least I did a poem for her.
My 'hobby' became professional while still in Germany, attending art shows at the French, German, American and Canadian bases.

Returning to Canada in 1992, gave me an opportunity to do numerous NATO, UN and military prints for various units at different bases in Canada. My work is on display at military museums and art galleries across the country.
Life has a way of guiding us towards other experiences and I am very happy to be once again concentrating on my Art Work.
One of my greatest joys is putting pencil to paper or brush to canvas.
I also enjoy drawing for others, as it permits me a deeper look at a subject I might otherwise have missed.
So, if you have a cool idea, please ... drop me a line.
