Throughout the drawing process
the main question always is

Do you recognize him ?

If Jack were to sit and turn to look at you
would he look like this ?

Your feedback is invaluable to me
and helps to create the perfect drawing.

I am a perfectionist.
I draw and stare, until they stare back.

I work the highlights and the shadows
until they not only pop off the page,
but I can pet them.

Strange as this may sound
when my subject looks back at me
I know I am on the right track.

I draw things in & shade things out.
My goal is to express the most important aspects of my subject.

I picture each muscle, each feature, each shadow and highlight of contour, to portray the desired expression of the personality.

The co-creation is pretty exciting.
You can get involved as much or as little as you want, within reason.

There are 3 stages to drawing a Portrait:
You could send me a photo and I could draw up a Portrait. OR you can get involved as much as you want. The co-creation process is quite exciting.
I'm with you each step of the way. Just let me know what your preference is.

  • The initial stage: checking out my website, contacting me, letting me know what type of Portrait you would like; # subjects, orientation, compostition, your budget, your deadline, your expectations. You send me photos. I draw a quick sketch, to ensure we are on the same page. I send it back to you, along with a contract. (Quotes will be honoured for 30 days). Upon your approval, returning a signed contract to me, via fax, with payment, we would move onto the next stage.
  • The planning stage: Depending on whether or not you have done your homework, replying to my questions, suggestions, inputting of your own, this stage could take as little as a week, or as long as need be, until you are satisfied. If you are on a budget, you could save some money in this stage: Know what you want; ask questions and share your comments.
  • The drawing phase: up to 6 weeks, depending on # subjects, size, composition, detail and current workload.
